Will Water Desalination be Global for Water Scarcity?

  Everyone knows that the ocean takes up almost 70 percent of the earth's surface and accounts for 96 percent of the planet's water. The thing is, we can't drink this water directly, because it is salt-oversaturated. The method of converting saline ocean water into drinking water is desalination. So, will the  water desalination system  be a silver bullet with 783 million people without access to drinking water and more areas facing extreme droughts?
